▼ This work is the transcript of a video interview conducted by the author on March 16, 2010 with Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Ronald E. Rosser. The interview takes place in Rosser’s home in Roseville, OH. An Ohio native born Oct. 24, 1929, Rosser earned the starry honor during a snowy winter tour of Korea when he had only two months of 22 under his belt. At 80, Rosser delivers a dynamic retelling of his time in Korea and that fateful January night captured on that video and meticulously transcribed here. Supplemented with photos, the video was originally created in fulfillment of an assignment for Cheryl Heckler’s Reporting and Newswriting class at Miami University in Oxford, OH and has since evolved to a work that intends to document, with respect and purity, an aging piece of American history.

▼ Throughout the month of February 2010, we implemented a number of tactics that informed the Oxford, OH community of the upcoming 2010 U.S. Census. While many of them were aimed toward a particular demographic, our pledge card program was intended for all of our publics. Both students and Oxford community members signed a promise to both our group and themselves that they had been informed about the census and that they would fill out their form when it was delivered. Overall, our campaign incorporated important facts about the census that we felt were imperative for everyone to know along with ways they could obtain additional information about the 2010 U.S. Census. The goal of our campaign was to increase awareness and anticipated participation in the 2010 U.S. Census in zip code 45056. We used a variety of objectives, strategies and tactics to reach our target publics. This thesis was coauthored with Kelly Fryberger. A copy of this thesis is on OhioLINK in her name also.
