▼ A general approach to leadership in education includes curriculum, staff development and the ability to encourage student growth. This study surveyed the perceptions of 183 school leaders to determine how prepared they were for various aspects of special education in their schools. The results indicated a wide variance in levels of preparation, raising questions about how leadership programs can better structure learning for future leaders. Recommendations are made for how programs can be successfully structured in order to best prepare administrators for addressing special education topics in our schools.
